TORONTO TO HOST SAFETY WEEK 2003

Safety Week 2003, SEDA's Annual Conference, will be held in Toronto, Canada July 26-29, 2003. The meeting will be held at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, which is located along Lake Ontario's shorefront in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Safety Week 2003 will once again be a combined meeting of the major safety equipment associations: SEDA, the newly formed Industrial Glove Association (IGA) (formerly National Industrial Glove Distributors Association (NIGDA) and the International Hand Protection Association (IHPA)), the Safety Equipment Manufacturers Agents Association (SEMAA) and the Canadian Glove Manufacturers Association (CGMA).

The conference is designed as an educational and networking opportunity for safety equipment distributors, manufacturers and manufacturer representatives. The program will include three days of seminars, one-on-one manufacturer-distributor executive conferences, roundtable discussions and recreation.

Mike Stamn of Conney Safety and President of SEDA, commented, " We think that Toronto is an excellent location for the next Safety Week. It is accessible by direct flights from over 300 locations in North America and offers a wide array of activities including theatre, sports, museums and cultural events. The value of the US dollar in Canada will also be a big plus for our members in the United States and will offer our Canadian members an opportunity to travel to a meeting closer to home. We expect many more distributors and manufacturers to attend Safety Week 2003 because Toronto is a great venue for a business oriented meeting with leisure options at a great value."

Selection of Toronto to host Safety Week 2003 was based on extensive member input. A survey of SEDA members conducted this summer found that meeting site accessibility and total meeting value were of greatest importance to members. Holding the meeting at a golf resort with lots of family activities was of less importance to survey respondents.

Mark your calendars today, and make plans to attend Safety Week 2003, the safety equipment industry's largest gathering of manufacturers, distributors and manufacturer reps.
