BOARD UPDATES STRATEGIC PLAN
The SEDA Board of Directors met in late February to begin the process of updating the association's Strategic Plan. The plan is the master guide that helps the board, committees and task forces understand association priorities.The Board began the process by reviewing and revising SEDA's mission statement. The new statement now reads:

The Board also developed a set of four initiatives that will help the association achieve its mission. They are:
- Set the standard of professionalism for safety product solutions
- Enhance the value of the wholesaler-distributor in the safety equipment channel
- Provide tools to achieve these goals and improve members' operating results
The next step in the strategic planning process is to develop strategies and action steps to advance the initiatives. Board members are working hard to on these plans, with the goal of having them completed and action items started by the Safety Week 2002 conference in July.
- Improve Channel Efficiencies for SEDA-member Distributors and Affiliates
- Make the Business Case for Working with Safety Specialists
- Provide Training Resources
- Be an Information Clearinghouse
