SEDA's 2007 Safety Leadership Forum:

Connecting Great Ideas and Great People

SEDA’s Safety Leadership Forum to be held June 10-12, 2007 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, California will connect great ideas and great people through just the right mix of stimulating business sessions and one-on-one networking opportunities that you won’t find at a traditional trade show. Key leaders from safety equipment distributor and supplier companies have already registered for this event. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow industry peers and suppliers. To see a current list of attendees, click here.

This year’s conference includes a strong line-up of speakers that will explore contemporary thinking about business and personal success, the global economy and channel conflict. On Monday, June 10, Brian Beaulieu of the Institute for Trend Research will explore what economic trends are on the horizon and how globalization continues to impact the safety industry. Generational speaker, Bob Wendover from the Center on Generational Studies, will offer a humorous and informative look at how to manage different generations in the workplace.

On Tuesday, June 11, Attorney and Jury Consultant, Mac Fulfer will teach you techniques derived from the practice of face reading which will provide you with and an accurate and immediate assessment tool for each person you meet to improve your negotiating, hiring and selling aptitude. Mike Marks of Indian River Consulting will share the findings of his new book on manufacturer-distributor relationships - Working at Cross Purposes- How Distributors and Manufacturers Can Manage Conflict Successfully and will follow up with round table discussions among manufacturers and distributors discussing how to manage those relationships in a way that will prove beneficial to both parties. A review of this new book is included in this newsletter.

SEDA’s great people will be joined together in great networking opportunities like one-on-one executive conference appointment sessions on Monday, a scramble golf tournament on Sunday and networking receptions throughout the conference.

Safety Leadership Forum is open to all SEDA members. In order to encourage greater distributor member attendance this year, we are offering a new distributor attendee conference discount of $200 off the regular registration fee of $599 for all distributors registering before March 31, 2007. Special sponsorship opportunities are also available to suppliers that will allow them to offer a complimentary registration to a qualified distributor attendee.

SEDA members who are also members of Safety Marketing Group (SMG) will be able to save on travel and meeting expenses to attend the Safety Leadership Forum and SMG’s annual conference that immediately follows it, also at the Resort at Squaw Creek. SMG’s meeting will be held June 12-16, 2007 and SEDA and SMG will hold a joint cocktail reception on Tuesday, June 12.
