2007 Safety Leadership Forum a Success

The inaugural Safety Leadership Forum (SLF) truly embodied the meeting theme, Connecting Great Ideas and Great People. Held June 10-12 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, CA the SLF received immense praise from attendees. In total there were 142 registrants with 28 distributor companies and 38 supplier companies represented. DETAILS

SEDA Announces New Directors, Officers

SEDA announced its new slate of officers and directors for 2007 

during Safety Leadership Forum in Lake Tahoe, California on June 12. Frederick H. “Ted” Cowie was elected to a two-year term as President. DETAILS

The spring session of the Qualified Safety Sales Professional (QSSP) course concluded on April 27, 2007 in Louisville, Kentucky. This was the 23rd session of this outstanding program that has become the gold standard in safety sales training.  DETAILS

UID Announces 2008 Dates

The University of Industrial Distribution (UID) will be offered March 2 – 5 in Indianapolis, IN at Indiana / Purdue University (IUPUI). LEGAL UPDATE

Supreme Court Approves Greater Control Over Minimum Resale Pricing

In a sharply divided 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has overruled its own 1911 decision in the Dr. Miles case and held that a manufacturer does not necessarily violate the antitrust laws by establishing a minimum resale price for its products and enforcing the policy by terminating a wholesaler-distributor or other reseller who sells below the minimum price.
