Fall 2005 FOSH Review

The Fundamentals of Safety and Health was offered again in October. FOSH is a unique training program for sales professionals new to the safety and health industry. William E. Simkins of W.E. Simkins & Associates teaches the two-day seminar packed with a concise review of everything safety sales representatives should know about OSHA and critical safety hazard areas. The course is well suited for customer service representatives, inside sales and field professionals. In addition, the seminar focuses on key safety and health issues with which safety sales professionals need to be familiar in order to be most effective when talking with customers.

Participants shared the following thoughts:

  • “Bill [Simkins, course director] made us comfortable in asking questions and handled questions very effectively,”

  • “Mr. Simkins made class very enjoyable in what can be a technical dry area.”

  • “Very useful class for those of us with limited safety hazard knowledge.”

Registration was down for this FOSH session and the SEDA board is currently reviewing the feasibility of hosting twice a year annual courses. More information will be provided in future newsletters.
